Get started with DEVONthink
DEVONthink keeps all your documents, bookmarks, and notes in one place, organizes them the way you think, and helps you find what you need again — whether you filed it last week or forgot you had it at all.

Organize
Sort your documents in databases and groups, add tags to them, and turn them into curated collections with smart groups. Add cross-references to weave your own wiki or link to your documents from other apps, e.g., your calendar or your task list. With built-in reminders you always have the right document to hand at the right time.

Work
Take notes, e.g., as Markdown, plain text, or rich text documents. Add thoughts, observations, or references to your documents as annotations. Edit documents in supported formats directly in DEVONthink or open them in other apps of your choice.

Work Smart
DEVONthink's built-in AI sees connections between documents, suggests categories, and assists you in searching your data. Integrate also generative AI, via an online platform or installed locally. Let it analyze your documents, summarize texts, or add tags. Enhance smart rules and automations with chat queries, and create your own AI agents. Alternatively, connect DEVONthink with your favorite AI app via MCP.

Work in a Team
Are you working in a team and want to use DEVONthink? Run it on every Mac and sync your databases between them. Or install DEVONthink Server on one Mac that holds all databases and let everyone in the team access it via web browser, no matter which operating system.

Automate
Let DEVONthink do all the recurring work for you. Set up smart rules and run their actions on selected documents or triggered by conditions. Use actions directly from the AI chat and write your own AppleScript and JavaScript for Automation (JXA) scripts using the extensive scripting dictionary provided by DEVONthink.
